Nourishment developed and produced a suite of social-first content designed to showcase Project A Black Planet through an audience-led lens.
Our approach to this marketing campaign demonstrated the value of community-led storytelling and cultural insight. As part of the campaign, we organised a dedicated community shoot at Barbican Art Gallery, bringing together 15 Nourishment community members as our featured talent to capture their authentic interactions with Pan-African art and culture. Through photos & video, we created imagery that reflected the energy, curiosity and diversity of audiences connecting with the exhibition.
Deliverables:
- Pan-Africanism carousel series exploring contemporary perspectives on Pan-Africanism in terms of craft, relevance and identity
- Exhibition photography and video assets for digital marketing & paid ads
- Community engagement & audience curation for press night
- Press night recap content capturing audience responses & exhibition highlights
- Newsletter and social promotion via discount codes
Impact:
The collaboration helped extend the reach of Project A Black Planet beyond the gallery space, connecting the exhibition with new audiences through culturally relevant storytelling.
Our Pan-Africanism carousel performed strongly across social channels, reaching over 22,000 views generating meaningful engagement while sitting naturally within Nourishment’s community-led editorial approach.
Our press night recap reel was selected by Barbican for use in paid Instagram advertising, extending its reach to their wider audience of 550k+ followers on Instagram alone.
The photography, trailers and social assets produced through these activations were used across Barbican’s digital channels, website and wider marketing activity, supporting the exhibition’s promotion while providing audiences with multiple entry points into the work.
